I don't want them to know! (need advice)

Hi, I have a network where I have registered a few hundred members.  The sofware that was used to build this system has more-or-less broken.  I want to transfer the members in that network to Dolphin, but I would like to get at least a small "critical mass" before I do that.  I have all the passwords and email addresses, and will probably be entering these one-by-one as a start.  What I need is pretty simple - I just want to make sure they don't get any emails at all during this data population task.  What is the safest way to do this? I just looked at the Email Templates section, and there doesn't seem to be any check box for each message on whether it should be sent or not.  Isn't that an important feature?  How is managing which emails go out typically done?  There are probably some threads on that here and I probably should have done a search first, but I would also like ideas on the smoothest way to accomplish this migration.

Thanks

Rob

OK, I just did the forum search I should have done in the first place but didn't really find anything- just a few people working gallantly to shut off those "cupid" emails, but not much else.  Isn't there a "master shut-off" valve somewhere.  My house has one- if I cause a flood I can shut off the water, but what if I start an email flood?  For the moment, I would like to shut down everything - all email confirms, photo approval message, anything that could be sent to these members, and then hopefully have an easy way to turn it back on.  Wish I had more control over all this.  Any suggestions?

Not bad... thanks... still wish there was a shut off valve somewhere though.

I thought there was a setting somewhere in Dolphin that would allow you to register multiple users with one email account?  Could someone remind me where that is - or did it disappear on more recent versions 6.1.4 ?  I'd like to put all these records in with one email address for now while I populate Dolphin.   I know it is probably something you wouldn't do in the real world, but it is possible to have multiple registrations with one email address, correct?

Admin > settings > Builders > Fields Builder > Email > Advanced > Unique > uncheck .....

However ..... sounds like you're asking for a mess .....

Found it, thanks.  But why am I "asking for a mess"?  As I said, it is just temporary for the data migration.  Would you have a better approach?
