Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to get the world map to automatically recognize my profile location. I can
only do it manually via the Edit location function.
I've gone through just about every step possible and nothing happens. I've used city, zip, address, and country fields and still the map stays in one spot.
Maybe I'm missing something, does it only recognize the location automatically when you register a new profile?
Even in the demo version, when I go to edit profile and change the city, country and zip information, the map stays in the same location and doesn't automatically change.

did you set this up correctly ?
To enable search by ZIP code in profiles' search forms go to:
Dolphin admin panel -> Builders -> Profile Fields -> Search Profiles.
You need to drag "Country" and "Location" fields, at least. Please remove any other location related blocks like "zip code" and/or "city".

Yes mingle, I did try that but no cigar. Here is a quote from the World Map description:
"Location on the map is automatically set using content's location fields data"
I'm using just about every location field I can think of like, address, city, country, zip, and location and the map doesn't set automatically.
Like I said before, even the Dolphin demo doesn't set the map automatically. Try it for yourself, login as demo user and go to edit profile. Change the country, city, and zip to something else and hit save. Now view your profile and as you can see, the map still hasn't changed.
Am I missing something here? I would appreciate any responses, thanks! |
Have you tried it on a test account cause when you install as admin you have to update your profile details as default it seems to be working fine on my site in events pages profiles and ads sorry i can be more help

I have a quick question for you. If you edit one of your profiles and change the location, will the map automatically change to the new location?

The way that works is every-time you click and move the icon it finds the lat and long or geocode's for that exact location so the answer is yes it automatically does it for you. If you look every-time you "click" the browser responds it can be quite clunky to do if you have to go across the world to locate a person and or business in the right spot.
It is a mystery to me why Dolphin does not go after the countless additions that Google mapping a free forum with already written FREE code and incorporate it into Dolphin. I further find it a mystery why in the world they do not use the
"Wheel Feature" on all the maps that would allow everyone to zoom in with a simple wheel of a mouse. These features as very simple codes to add to the module "World Map" The untapped resources of the world map and the Mobile IPhone app are daunting at best.
