How to make Dolphine live on domain once uploaded to host

Hello,

I'm new to all this so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Could someone please tell me how to make this live on my domain from the control panel.

I have uploaded the software to my host but it is still not showing live when i log into my domain address.

Must be a simple problems to fix, but I am a simpleton!

Thanks

Ronnie,

Welcome aboard!

If all the files and directories are unzipped and in the public_html directory then you just need to create a database in Cpanel and then run the install script by going to your web address (www.yoursite.com/). The install script will walk you through the rest. Here are the official instructions:

Mscott,

Hi mate, thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I still cant seem to get the install script up. I have checked that all files are unzipped which they are.

my site is all ready to go and I can access my site by going to www.mysite.com/dolph/

....but i want to be able to access it without the extra /dolph/ added to the address. ie. just www.mysite.com

im sure this is a simple and quick fix but im like a caveman with an iphone!

any further help will be greatly appreciated

thanks

your site is installed in public_html/dolph you need to move all files in public_html and update header.inc.php.

or best and easy would be my favorite REINSTALL.

It seems like your host has used softaculoucios to install your site.

Good luck.

Ahh, I see. You can move all the files and dirs out of that sub-directory and put them all in the public_html if you don't want the /dolph/ in your URL.

If you move the files and the install still doesn't work make sure the .htaccess file made it during the upload and that it is the one that comes with Dolphin and not the Cpanel default one.

I'm about to run some errands but I'll be back in a couple of hours and we'll get you setup one way or another.

** EDIT ** Sorry, I just saw your other post that you installed automatically. I would take Prashank's advice and re-install it. If you do it manually you can put it where ever you want. I think Softaculous also asks if you want it in a sub-dir doesn't it?

Ok guys,

Problem solved and now ive solved it I realise how easy it was to fix. Makes me laugh now i'm aware.

First try i received an error saying the .htaccess already exists or something. I then clicked the 'overwrite all files' (which was advised and prompted) and i think this should work now. any issues ill let you know

Thanks for you help and patience, im sure there's going to be many more to come.

cheers
