Hello My question is addressed to those who have long been involved sites, and versed in matters of promotion and marketing site.
I have two regional site - community. Sites of young (1-2 month), but the subject matter perspective.
To further advance these projects, I need to hire more employees - about 10 employees for the two sites (moderators, administrators, webmasters). In addition, need to be engaged in optimization and advertising, promotion sites.
Some potential sponsors in the correspondence showed interest in my project. And they agree in principle to sponsor my projects.
The problem lies in the issue price. I do not imagine how much money is needed to a 1 website from scratch up to 100 000 users in one year? How much money do I need to add the 1 site to over one year to make it a popular resource - for real and 100 000 active users.
Would have to include all costs, from staff salaries to the cost of hosting, promotion, marketing and optimization.
I need to name the amount to the sponsor - how much money you need per month.
Thanks in advance to all who are willing to share their experiences.

I can tell you your hosting budget of around $500 in my thoughts. I guess because i don't have a site big like this "100000 users. I don't think you need much employ because CMS are for easy management. And ads are your choice you can choose when you want to advertise and check your price with the ads provider.
Good luck
so much to do.... |

These kinds of questions aren't answerable here. As a business man, you will need to do the research yourself. I would start by getting my proposal in order, then inviting representatives from different internet marketing (and other) companies to show the proposal to give you bids (after you make them sign a non disclose agreement of course) and outlines on how they would handle each part. Then the people you hire need to show you their background and what they can bring to the table.
In other words, every site is different and it's going to require you doing the leg work.

Thank you. SkyForum The essence of me is clear. But I think if someone is to share experiences, success stories, will indicate the direction, then nothing bad will happen. We all learn by example and experience of others, even if we are creating something new.
The only thing that I do not understand is - What does "You know, if I actually knew how to write code, I'd probably be very dangerous ....."?

100.000 users you can do that on a $5/m hosting, but to have a site that's very active 100k+ users i would say 10 HIGH performance servers will get the ball rolling. big $$$$
10 employees? what's the average salary in your county for a web designer? full time par time? do you have a office ?. $30 k a year for one employee :)
promotion/marketing depends on you how far you want to go. 2-3 k a month will get some results
total? 100k give or take.

So many different things will effect the answers to your questions!
To maintain a site with 100k users, is not a job for lots of people, you can do that yourself.
However, if you are looking for employees to help with advertising, site content, design etc then you need to look at what the going rate is for those jobs in your area if they are local employees.
Then, if you are serious about your site, you need to look at the site having its own income streams so it is not dependant on 'sponsors' income as this may not be ongoing....
For me to pay a site 'sponsorship' to access 100k users, I would really not pay much at all as I can do that easily through other sites such as Facebook, google ads etc.. and reach easily that many users for very little.
Also, 100k users, does not mean 100k people will take notice of my 'adverts'!
You need to look at many ways for those sponsors to get exposure on the site if they are going to be your main source of income...
IF the sponsors money is providing the means for you to pay employees, will that be a yearly fee the sponsors will pay or a one off??? If its a one off they you need to have next years wages covered from site income!
I have some sites that make money using Dolphin, the ones that 'work' properly are the ones with multiple income streams. OR provide something very very niche that is ongoing demand.
I would not look at launching a site that was dependant on a sponsors income or just banner advertising to provide its income at all. Do you have other income streams in place?

Thank you for your reply - daihlo. Yes, we will have other sources of income of course. Sponsors are needed for the first couple. Thank you for your response. |
Thanks SkyForum
Yes, we see immediately that you are very talented and educated people. Once you have such a signature you are very steep. Thank you for your clarification.
I really do not know much English. And the reason is simple: my English teacher was like you are "very talented and educated" person.
Thanks again for your "cool" response.
