How can I stop cupid emails completely.

How can I stop cupid emails completely. I have tried everything, but even at 99% match some users still get way too many emails sent to them about matches, same matches 20 emails in one day. I need to stop the cupid emails all together. Any help as to completely disable sending out cupid emails.

I have unchecked the "enable cupid emails" and "enable matchmaking" but emails are still sent out?

Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe delete your cron job on cupid.php

Delete the cron job entry cupid.php

where is this cupid.php? i couldn't find this in the file manager. Just delete will do?

Go into your "cpanel" and click "cron jobs".. you should see three listed. Delete the one that runs "cupid.php". The file is in your /periodic directory.. but if you delete it without taking it out of the "cron" you are going to get errors.

You need to go in of your server admin area, there you will see somewhere the option Cron jobs.
Click on this, there you will see your cronjob. Try to editing this one and remove the code who has Cupid in it.
After this save the cronjob file... now no Cupid mails anymore.

A other possibilities is, go to Admin _ advanged and de-select the option use cupid

Look in your plesk CP under services for crontab with an icon of a clock and a wrench  ..... 

If you still can't find it. do internet search for "crontab edit plesk" (without quotes)

T, you are correct there were no crons (tasks) setup  ..... 

This is bizarre that the email is getting sent with no cronjobs to send it!
(the CP has nothing to do with it)

Anyone have an angle on that?

Thats strange because I have no mails send from my install. I have cronjobs on, but no cupid code in it, only cmd and notifed

you could set this into admin- advanged settings to 100%
Send a cupid mail if the recently joined profile matches more than this percentage  or de-select it

This question has been covered before, I apologise but I can't remember who pointed me in the right direction, but if you do this it will stop them.

Admin Panel > Settings > Advanced Settings >Untick Enable Cupid Mails and Untick enable matchmaking > Send a cupid mail if the recently joined profile matches more than this percentage Set this at 300

This will stop them defibately, i have not had one go since applying these settings.

I have a question about this matching.  Lets say you have two fields that are set for matching.  In my case, these are "industries" and "trade countries" and both are set to 70 percent.  Is a cupid email generated when either of these fields goes over 70 percent, or when both of them do.  In other words, if one of these fields is 80 percent, and the other if 10 percent will that generate a cupid email? - and how is the percent match calculated?
