Hello,
For my site as all sites I require certain information about the members in order for them to join my site.
However there are some 'mandatory fields' in the join form which I really do not require and would be strange to ask the members of the site to submit.
For example at the moment to join up you must give a zip or postcode and even gender.
Does anyone know how I can change these so that they either do not show up on the form or that they are not mandatory in order to join the site.
Also I would like to change the names of the fields eg. For the field 'city' I would like to change it to 'nearest city'
If anyone could help me once again it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

maybe it needs a new template drawn up or some coding in php. any ideas? |
Go to admin/builders/profile fields/join form. You can make all of your 'adjustments' there http://towtalk.net ... Hosted by Zarconia.net! |
Hello, OK well I endlessly tried to change the form fields from that area however they never worked. I believe however that it may have something to do with the server as I was building my site and getting used to it all using a 'shared server'. Now I have launched my site on a VPS and the form is working fine. Something to note for anyone trying to set their site up on a shared server before launch. Thanks for the reply though |
I am having this same problem, but in a different way. I have unchecked last name as being a mandatory field, because it is not necessary - although I like it there if the member chooses to give it. However, even being checked as not being mandatory upon joining the system is still acting as though it is required.

Any ideas? in that join form "profile fields" section there is an admin tab I think, make sure your removing it there... I may be wrong on this.. going to double check [edit] go there at select "edit profile" the see the "admin" tick that, and change to not mandatory there and remove to inactive.. repeat as necessary for fields you do not want on the join form that are mandatory.. ManOfTeal.COM a Proud UNA site, six years running strong! |
