How To Remove or Hide Dating Criteria...

I believe Dolohin is going in the right direction as far as not branding their suite to one thing, such as a dating site.

However, as much as I've tried to remove some of that, there are still parts that I don't know how to fix.  For example, when you register, you are asked if you are a man or a woman.  This is not necessary on my site and that information doesnt need to be tracked in the admin panel.  If you have experience cleaning that up, please let me know.

Thanks

Hey, those fields are in back end admin panel.  Look around Builders, then profile fields, should see what you're looking for in there.

I've noticed you've asked several similar questions before, so I'll say this....if its a block and you want to enable/disable or move somehow, most of all of that stuff is back there in the admin panel.  Just familiarize yourself with it, and you'll save yourself a LOT of time.  Trust me, Im not an expert, Im just a newb too (check my sig)

I understand what you're saying and I do spend a lot of time In admin learning my way around.  What I'm looking for specifically is where to change the fields for sex in a new registration from man or woman to male and female.

I believe you can make those changes under Builders/ Predefine Values then select sex and rename the listed value to what ever new name you want.

Look in your Language Settings and change there.

I may do this as my next tutorial. I think this confuses many newbies who eventually walk away in frustration. As the folks above all say, it's about becoming familiar with the Builders section. That was the very thing that attracted me to Dolphin because so many changes can be made there, making almost every site unique.

 Hi bonkered,

Go to Builder > Profile Fields. Remove all "Looking For" fields under Join Now, Edit Profile, and View Profile tabs. Just move the said field to the Inactive Items. Hope this helps.

You guys are awesome.   Just awesome.   I did all the things offered.   Everywhere I look the language is male and or female, but when you register, the choice is man or woman.   That's what I need changed.  I like knowing how many men we have vs how many women as that's a good stat, but finding the sellector for man or woman has been a challenge.  I'll double and triple check again.

Go to your admin -> settings -> Language Settings.

/administration/lang_file.php?filter=male

There you see the language strings which include the name

And I totally agree, which is what I loved about Dolphin as well
