Hi, I have some questions:

1. can I rename this module? Because "Hot or not" would be not appropriate for my page :)

2. Does it work with the current version of Dolphin?

3. Can I have the most "hot" pictures on my Home page?

Best regards,

Aga

Also, this module is not practical.  I had several of my friends try to rate a pic and all of them say it's difficult cast their cast.  I have to agree with it.

The rating scale looks like page numbers. There are no instructions for the end user.  It's confusing.

I would like to see you ditch the 1-10 rating scale then adopt a basic Hot or Not voting system.

Example: Place Hot or Not buttons under photo (on left side) Show results Hot (23) | Not (9) place under photo on the right side.

Also, members should be able to post any photos they want - not just photos of themselves.

RESPONSE : Only one step is needed to cast a vote. You make one click on a number in the rating scale. Please elaborate on why you see the vote casting as difficult.

The rating scale looks like page numbers. There are no instructions for the end user.  It's confusing.
RESPONSE : I have added a description legend to the rate box. There should be no doubt now as to how they should vote. Also, if you desire, you could add a HTML block to the voting page with more extensive description.

I would like to see you ditch the 1-10 rating scale then adopt a basic Hot or Not voting system.
RESPONSE : Sorry, that's not going to happen as many existing clients like this rate scale approach. If you want the mod rebuilt to facilitate Hot or Not buttons, you will have to get it done as a custom job.

Example: Place Hot or Not buttons under photo (on left side) Show results Hot (23) | Not (9) place under photo on the right side.
RESPONSE : See response above.

Also, members should be able to post any photos they want - not just photos of themselves.
RESPONSE : There is nothing in the mod that forces members to post only photos of themselves. You can easily modify the existing categories or add new ones in Admin. For example, you can create a category called "Photos of Nature" and allow your members to upload photos of beautiful scenery.

Can you provide a quote?  The module is still not practical.  I'm surprise people have not said anything about this yet.

How can a member say the results of the rating once they have rated the pic on the 1-10 rating scale?   What I describe above is a much easier way to make this module a lot more practical and easy to use by members.

Seems as if you did not read the product description before purchasing because it does make it clear (in words and snapshots) that the voting was based on a rating scale. Different webmasters have different tastes and those who like this different approach have purchased the mod and are happy with it using a rating scale.

Custom work is discussed via PM.

How can I edit the categories?  It's not clear in the Hot or Not Admin area to change or add categories.

I've spent hundreds of dollars buying your mods. So, trust me I read the content.  No where does it describes a rating scale 1-10 and the screenshot where it shows numbers lined up above the picture I assumed it was page numbers.  I will take responsibility for that wrong assumption.

This is the only mods that was a complete disappointment.  Anyways, I hope you was this information to improve this module.

How can a member see the results of the rating once they have rated the pic on the 1-10 rating scale?
RESPONSE : That feature does not exist. I will flag it for inclusion in the next update.

Please do! It is useless without this feature.  The purpose of getting members to vote is for others to see results, right?  Members should be able to see results of any photo in the Hot or Not section.

Quote · 10 Oct 2012

Actually the mod does show the results. On any of the pages where the Hot or Not Photos are listed, there are three icons below the Photo :

1) Rating Count (if you hover over this it shows more detailed information such as "Rating 5- out of 3 Votes")

2) Comments Count

3) Vote Count.

When I said that the feature does not exist, I was referring to the "Last Voted Pics" block where members presently cannot see the rating they just gave to the Photo.

I accidentally clicked "Report" link on Modzzz's post - I meant to click "Quote"

1) Rating Count (if you hover over this it shows more detailed information such as "Rating 5- out of 3 Votes")

one of my photo shows it has "6 out of 12 votes" when I hover over ratings

2) Comments Count

this same photo shows it has 9 comments - but there is no comments under that photo, so where are the comments it is counting?

3) Vote Count.

this same photo shows it has 9 votes - but on the rating icon it says 12 votes

These numbers are not adding up.  Please clarify.  thanks.

Thank you for your response.  I understand that you have many modules and at time it will take you time to investigate a reported issue.

However, ignoring a post is not a good idea if you wish to earn client's trust.  You could have simply said I've investigating this issue and will get back with you shortly.

With that said - you do have great modules and I appreciate the many features you bring to dolphin with your modules.  It makes it possible for me to sell dolphin and your modules to my clients.

:-)  Keep up the great work.  I look forward to your solution to the above rating questions.

Hey Modzzz,

I am having a problem again. If you look at the picture you will see the language keys are not working? Only for the profile pictures I think.. When I go to put the Keys in I get a database error saying there already there. Is this conflicting with another mod maybe?

Thanks for your help..
