HostForWeb which package please?

Howdy.  I am new.  I purchased the 400 day license and read about HostForWeb.

I am wondering which package I should purchase at host4web and if their support is good?

Are you asking this person to send you their license code?  I hope that isn't the case.

This person is trying to scam you out of your license. Little do they know, however, that licenses are managed from the user's account page here, so theft is limited only to being lazy.

Cheap rodent.

Onward to the author's question, I have personally no experience with HostForWeb. However, I have heard from numerous people that their service is satisfactory, and even BoonEx uses them for their web hosting needs. The package for yourself to choose from them depends soley on your demands. If you are a small community, you don't need the larger, more expensive packages. However, if you are a larger community, you should obviously choose the larger package, or even a dedicated server. It's really just a matter of knowing when to go-up on the ladder.

If you also purchased a license, then why is your membership level Starter?  Those who purchase a license are automatically upgraded to Advanced.

You have no business asking someone for license information.  What possible reason could you have for wanting that information?  Don't do it again, or you will anger me.

I'd help you, but this isn't the place to ask that question. Nor is it right to try and change the subject.

Oh my.

Well.  I said I was new.  I did not say I was stupid.  I've probably been working online before you were out of diapers.

I have two dedicated servers already and not actually looking to pay for another.

I have a dedicated with liquidWeb and a dedicated with UrlJet.  LiquidWeb did in fact set the server to run this software before I ever purchased the software.  However, they are not going to offer support for the software and so I felt I would be better going with hosting that does in fact host the software and offers excellent support.  UrlJet hosts vbulletin.

I am not familiar with the features you mentioned, 'mydatery'.  I have a feeling, just going thru the software, settting things up, implementing the design, may consume quite a bit of time anyway.  Not sure about that string thing or the phpion......don't have the slightest idea what they are what they do or why they may be needed.

No I don't intend to sell products on it.  I'll be running some ads but not direct selling of products.

Thank you very much.  I think I will check out the VPS-1 you suggested.  Glad I ask and I appreciate your reply and help.

FYI

My experience thus for with HostForWeb has been not good.

I called them yesterday and they suggested I go with just the basic and could upgrade to another package later.

I purchased the supreme shared which is $20 (about $16 with discount code) monthly.  I thought this makes sense as no doubt it will take a little time to get familiar with the software, set things up, etc.

It took them about 5 hours to set up my account.  I can set up an account in less than 5 minutes.  Finally, the account was set up and they did the install.  I visit my site today, and all that is there is nothing but a white page with a paragraph of string errors.  When I contacted them, they replied that server is experiencing problems.

The customer support and messages are professional and nice enough.

But it looks to me thus far, their hosting is very bad.

Embarassed

I guess I did!  Goes to show how good I am.  I can break stuff without even seeing it!  Innocent

I decided to go ahead and put it on one of my dedicated servers.
