Horizontal search

I am looking for a horizontal search for my home page. I want the search to go across the index page instead of down. so its like this ...

|OPTIONS | LOCATION | PREFERENCES |

this would fit better on my site.

I have tried to copy and paste the menu into a separate page and change the css which I can do and make it look right, but I can't get the search function to work and basically I am not able to make stuff work like that yet. I looked on the market but can't find any. Does anyone know of any for sale or at least have a code for a basic search. (by this i don't mean the system search, I mean the thing that searches for people and marches and stuff)

oh and does anyone know how to remove that +add function in the search, because it appears when your searching for everything. like select country, then +add. why would someone want to search for more than one country at once? are they going to fly  to the next country? and its there on man, woman? does this mean they can add like idk a fifth and sixth sex to search for? its a bit mad really
