The general concensus on the use of flash for an online multiplayer game  that can access the database (a feature i really want to incllude) is that it will be difficult at best. But there are ways. Apparently i need to install lacewing on my server and then use flash to call lacewing to retieve info and write info to the site DB. I have never used lacewing before.

Another altenative is that a new HTML 5 exporter is soon to be released for the development systenm i use. Hopefully this should have no problems communicaing with the database and would also be more stable to use as game code. 

if i write a game  want it to have the abillity to read from the DB - user info such as qty of credits or points / avatar. This way it would be possible to use site points or credits to progress through the game and encourage site activity to raise enough points to complete levels. Also if a user was awarded items or meddals or points within the game this info coyld be updated in the DB and displayed in a block on the users account.

I will keep you informed as i figure things out.
