it would be same as installing it on any other hosting provider

first - download d7
second - unzip it

3rd - connect to your server using a ftp client

- upload all files/folders that you just downloaded
- after that

make sure you create a data base

yoursite.com/installation

follow the steps :)

Ensure that your server meets the requirements for Dolphin, as outlined here: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolTech - and here: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/ThingsToKnow

By making sure, you are saving yourself and the rest of us from years of abuse.

I meant that you can change these settings yourself, not that you need to completely change web hosts. There are several people here running Dolphin 7 on GoDaddy. However, if you want to switch to another web host, it is up to you...

I don't have much knowledge in setting up sql or what ever I may need to setup in godaddy to work with D7. It seems like Arvixe has these futures setup already.

just make sure your site doesn't use more then 500% of the CPU resources

you can read more about it here

I'm sorry, but I must be honest: if you are not willing to get down and dirty with this script, it isn't for you. That said, I wouldn't recommend Arvixe, due to all of the bad press it's been getting (read the post above), but it's again, your choice. You are going to have another load of issues with Arvixe, so do not expect golden sunshine on any host with Dolphin.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I just called and cancel the transaction with Arvix. It appears that I am gonna stick around with godaddy. It's time to get down and dirty :)

Certain hosts, such as Glowhost.com have an automatic install, takes two seconds.  I remember I got a discount as well because I followed a link from boonex and I think I put "dolphin" in the code box.  Don't know if that special is still there.  Glowhost is slightly more expensive, but they are anal about their setup, not letting hackers in, and how many people or traffic are on their servers.  There are a lot more options as to how much you want to share a server or not at different price ranges.  Overall I give them an A+, especially after I had multiple sites hacked on a different host.
