Dolphin requires the following pre-requisites for your server:

http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolTech

allow_url_include is On  This a global php setting, this must be OFF on your server.

Try changing the value in you php.ini file.

You'll need to look up how to do that. If you are on shared then you might be able to "dump" a php.ini file into your root and it will work. Other times it has to be done on the file itself.

This is my php.in

magic_quotes_gpc=On
allow_url_include=Off
upload_max_filesize=300M
post_max_size=300M
max_input_time=3000
max_execution_time=3000
memory_limit=128M

were the php file goo on the community root or wat i dont get it

and i look up and read wat they say and fallow the step but nat working

To help we need some more info for this I think.
are you on a dedicated - VPS or shared hosting?
===============================

The php.ini if you on a shared hosting must be in the map where Dolphin is installed. This can work if the server accept this way. (Some times this is not working)

If you have a dedicated server: then you need change it on the servers php.ini in your cpanel or other server admin.

I hope this en someting clear for you..

just a thought but you may be using php 4  if thats the case switch to php5      if you have cpanel hosting  look in the php quick config and make sure allow url is off.

Hi

try dding this to your .htaccess file if you are running php 4

there can sometimes be path issues finding the php.ini file on cpanel location

suPHP_ConfigPath /home/YOUR_CPANEL_NAME/public_html

change the your cpanel name to your user name

If you can't even figure out how to install Dolphin then you probably won't be able to run a website.. Maybe you should hire someone who knows what they are doing.

Come on guys, this is a newbie to Dolphin and he admitted he's just starting out.  Remember when each of us was there?  This user is trying to start up a site using a shared host and your all directing him to the php.ini file which he doesn't actually have access to if he's like most in a shared environment.  If he does have access to it that's a huge bonus but it still doesn't tell him what to do.

In this case, the issue of php 5.x.x should be handled by the host and not you, as far as upgrading to it goes.  Most hosts will do the upgrade no problem, however since your in a shared environment, if upgrading for you will bring the other sites down then most hosts will not do it as it creates more of a headache than it's worth for them.  Check with your host on this and they should be happy to do it.  In addition, all changes to a php.ini file in a shared environment should be done by the host and not the site owners as this can have a huge effect on other sites.  My concern would be a host running a shared environment just allowing site owners to change this file as they see fit, as this means huge security/stability issues for all the sites.  Just imagine you changed it to suit your needs and now Billy Bob comes in to change it to suit his, followed by Joey needing something different for his... Get the point
