Hacker??

Dig this, I always keep an eye on my stats and for the past few days there has been someone close by geographically. Today I noticed that this other IP is shadowing me even through member areas. I blocked it throuh IP deny manager next thing I know I'm blocked from getting on to the site. Any suggestions?

are you on a dedicated or shared environment? if you blocked an ip that was not yours, then that is weird indeed. i would contact support and ask them to first take your ip out of the deny list, and then help you sort what is going on with this other activity?

Yeah, I could still access cpanel but, I couldn't get in to any other page on my site. The night before last I got a visit from the Trilaterral Commission and they are spooky and now this.

I'm on shared hosting until November when I'm going to start paying for dedicated. Somehow, I don't think this has anything to do with my host....just a hunch.

well i am not familiar with the trilateral commission, and if you are not doing anything illegal on your site, then i wouldnt worry about it. did they physically visit you, or you are referring to a visit to the site.

well good luck, i dont think you are being hacked just because you read access from a log file on your server. are they accessing something that is not public domain?

Yeah, my site had a visit from them the other night, they didn't access anything on the members side. Just this current IP that's giving me a problem I'm think about calling my service provider and see if they can tell me anything.

Update: My IP has been changed. Isn't that a goof???

Are you on a wireless network at home.  If your firewall is inadequate others can do what you are describing, and scarily even more.  I had that problem when I first set up my wireless router in the house.

What IP???

Your personal IP or your server IP?
.

By the way Trilateral commission is no bigy Google them.  Not even a government organization.

Hi all, they changed my personal IP. Now on satelite I'm just a little dot in the middle of the woods somewhere not even close to where I live. From what I've wiki'd the Trilateral Commission is some type of NWO thing. I'm not wireless. I just wish they would let me know before they do that.

What I have read about this commision, its a private organisation for policy and economy.
So I think there is a hacker who use this name, you can search this out by read your server acces log file.
Find the name and look at the things they or he has done...

Yeah, well my service provider says I have two IP's now and they don't see anything wrong with that so, I don't know.

The weird thing is according to StatCounter this new IP is somewhere in the woods about 45 mins away from me.

You probably have a dynamic IP as opposed to a static IP which can change at any time.

Also, depending on how big the ISP is, the IP could be listed as anywhere  .....
mine traces back as nine states away from where I actually live,

Wow, well they said I have 1 IP for my computer and 1 for my Modem.

Quote · 17 Aug 2008

You do  .....  something like 192.168.1.xxx for your computer which is non-routable (private) and your public IP address for the modem. (routable)

Yeah, is that funny or what???

Quote · 18 Aug 2008

Not at all, it's normal  .....  computers communicate in numbers  .....  humans communicate in names  .....

That's why we have DNS (Domain Name System) to translate names to numbers and vice-versa,
