HELP Spam Splitting Join Form

Hello everyone, this my last question before I make my website public and this is to fight off spam registrations.

My ideas are:

1) make users email me a code seen on the join page before they can actually join.

2) or split the join form into two.

3) or add a simple mathematical question script

Any ideas? I would be very happy if someone could help me to realize step 2 or 3.
