Group Modules Section in Admin Dashboard

Hi, is there any solution to group the modules section in the admin menue in 'sub-sections'?

In the meantime, after purchasing a lot of stuff, using default mods, installing, reinstalling and so on, the module section in my admin menu is no longer userfriendly, its a mixed up and completely disordered

I'm looking for a solution to build sub-sections of the modules section, related modules, exp:

  • content
  • admin site
  • admin users
  • communication
  • whatever 1....
  • whatever 2....

Is there any known solution for that?

thx, peter

There's no available solution that I know of and and I can't recall seeing a third party module for it.

Modules appear in the list in the order they're installed.  It may be possible to sort them Alphabetically in the code, but they're not capable of being moved in the dashboard.

The easiest way is to use the admin menu builder and just slide them in the order you wish.  For example, if you had modules from different vendors, you could group all of one vendor together.

Go to this from your site URL /administration/menu_compose_admin.php  Under modules you can arrange them in any order you wish.
