Google Ranking changes re Mobile

I read today that Google are altering their site ranking system re mobile phones/tablets as of this week.

If your site is not Responsive (mobile friendly) it will be down graded in the search results or fail to show period.

I have an html site that needs to be responsive, how can I do that?

Many thanks,

Stuart

So basically what Google is saying is that they control the internet and what people do and if you don't do as they want they ignore you completely.

By not indexing none responsive sites they will not be indexing millions if not billions of sites world wide. Yea Right like their going to let their own stats drop just like that.

Google is nothing more than an advertising agency ( the biggest admittingly) but they don't control the internet, personal I never search using Google or other indexers, I use the Direct internet data base which has everything in it by default.

This problem with Google trying to force you to spend money and be controlled is a very easy fix. DON"T USE GOOGLE

just my 2 cents on this so called major issue your all so worried about.

Actually to be more accurate, the changes will only be reflected in searches done on a mobile device.

Desktop searches will not be affected.

Makes sense, if your searching with a mobile device, then it makes sense that mobile friendly sites be listed ahead of those that are not.

However if the search is being conducted from a desktop then the search results will remain the same.

Not sure if this is going to have the big scary impact so many are afraid of.

Yes, this is only for search from mobile devices, but the change is still a significant signal, especially for Dolphin-based sites. We got that covered in Trident, but Dolphin needs an update that we are working on right now.

Is there a URL for getting to the 3 pages in the Mobile Pages Builder? Or is it obsolete? Most of my clients dropped 3-12 ranking spots yesterday after Google applied "mobile friendly" update (on a PC search too).

No, no updates ... we need 7.2 :-)

Yep. 7.2 is what I mean. We are on it at full pace now.
