Get ready for possibly the stupidest question of all time...

In the admin > tools >newsletter, what happens if I click "empty queue". Does it send the messages currently waiting in the queue or delete them?

Yes, "Empty queue" will delete all notifications still waiting for next cron jobs to be sent.
From memory, "Empty queue" will delete (DROP) all datas from sys_sbs_queue database table.

Maybe it wasn't such a stupid question. It seems like a rather pointless button. Why would you not want your members to receive their messages?

Is there not a button to send all the emails in the queue (surely more useful?). Cron is not doing its thing.

Sending all the emails at the same time it s not a good idea at all.

It will comport a big "stress" for your server and also your server could be recognized as malicious.

It is better to use the normal Cron Settings. Trust me.

Thanks YobiLab,

I'd love to use the cron settings. I just can't get them to work and felt the messages need to go.

@sammie Don't worry, I'm sure I'll come up with it soon.

What is wrong with your cron? Do you receive an error?

I've no idea.

i'm speaking to my host, TMD, about it and they seem to think everything is set up correctly. But the messages aren't sending and I can't even do a manual cron job on it.

Hopefully I'll sort it out soon.

Did you resolve this issue?

I have lots of emails sitting in sys_sbs_queue but they're not being sent.

They are sent by the cron job.. is your cron job setup and fire once a minute?
