Every program has it's "quirks" , despite I haven't had this much fun in a long time. This past weekend I installed Dolphin 7.0.8 and almost all went without flaw, save for some Flash App issues.. that's probably my own fault. I lease cheap space (g) and one of the pains is they control the php.ini setup and leave what should be off on. But I did an old work around.. just installed my own php.ini in every directory. By Saturday the site was humming on a sub-domain and I got all but chat to walk their walk..so I started to reskin. I learned from past experience with Dolphin, unless you want some one elses skin.. the best way to make the site appear close to what you want is work with the uni/base template. By Sunday it was starting to look unique - and I must have burped, cause I lost all flash apps - period... The app stage wouldn't load in admin ( that's my problem - this is not a request for help - I have fun when faced with the adverse..)...by Monday some friend were joining to help test to see if I injected bugs any where else in the platform.. ( ahhhhhhh nothing major to date ) .. so today I got a cheap domain name and I was faced with a new challenge.. the move from sub to .com. The best way I assumed to do this was extract the present database... make sure all the files were moved that had been uploaded ( profile pics and the like ) create a new DB and use the installer. ( Save for some path statements that were direct in CSS vs. shorthand we scoured the revised to redirect. ) I forgot one thing, the customized language file that matched the database.. ( oh well I'm almost perfect ).. Boots on the Ground we went forward with our plan and it worked well.. Because the original language file was in the install area ( unlike the original DB file that I changed saved a copy and over wrote it with the sub domain data..) after install.. we had those famous _bx_ tags every where (g).. So I uploaded the language file that was compiled on the sub.. and it fixed. Now I have to redo via admin and fix the errors of my ways ( senility be 65 yrs old soon ) - a lesson learned. Glad for "me" the site is hot and functioning.. ( all within a matter of a few hours - a stimulation I need to stave off "brain dead" age syndrome )
