Boonex removed the free license and put the nag message in its place,  Only admins see the nag screen so one can still use Boonex to build a site without buying a license; your members won't see the nag screen.

My free licence was working upto and including 7.0.9.  I have hosting clients that are also on 7.1.0 and are using their free licences without issues.

I believe the free license use was removed. I also believe boonex announce it.

I have been unsuccessful in getting dolphin 7.1 to take any free license. And free licenses can no longer be generated on the boonex website. So they have dropped their use.

I cant get any license to work at all in D7.1

Quote · 31 Jan 2013

yes in 7.1 they say you need to pay A$399 for a standard licence to get rid of the warnings

the std licence for A$399

includes

All 36 Dolphin modules

No "Powered by" links

Lifetime version updates

Advanced BoonEx Membership

 excludes

 Premium BoonEx Membership

 discounts at BoonEx Market
 mobile apps
 installation service

Have no and never had interest in All 36 Dolphin modules

No "Powered by" links - does not bother me as its a good product so i am pleased to advertise i am using it

Lifetime version updates - already get this through Softaculous

Advanced BoonEx Membership - already an Advance member and has been since 14.06.10

so for A$399 i would get 36 Modules i dont want

While I normally don't assist in thread hijacking; this is most likely due to Dolphin not being able to contact Boonex to register the site.

Same here. I just performed a brand new full install of Dolphin 7.1 but the entry field just keeps blanking out every time I try to register it.

The default BoonEx News feed loads so it must be able to communicate with BoonEx at some level.

will users STOP hijacking my thread as this is about the free licence not working and not licences in general.

If you have other issues then start you own thread.  any hijackers will be reported.

the free licences should work on 7.1.0 as boonex state they will never expire

Dolphin 7.0.9
Extensions (39) License never expires
Update to 7.1.0

The free licenses no longer work from 7.1 onward.  Instead, BoonEx has chosen to have 7.1+ be a "trial" without expiration for those who do not enter a paid license.

Because free licenses are no longer used, they can no longer be generated.

but they have openly stated licences will never expire and if you read my previous post of what you actually get for the $399 its not worth it.

As a host that sells pre configured dolphin sites, i know that my clients/prospective clients wont want to pay $399 to use dolphin.  you can get full phpfox for $299 of which boonex charge $799 for the same features.

You don't have to pay to use Dolphin.  The only limit without a license is the BoonEx banner at the bottom of the site and Flash apps.  The "trial" has no feature or time limitations.

Paid licenses remove the banners and work with any version.  Free licenses didn't offer any benefits for the user-end.

you just getting all the annoying popups all over the admin area when you are trying to do things etc. if you dont want all the modules and you dont mind advertisng you are using dolphin then you should still have the free licence which as i stated before boonex actual state these will necr expire which they have expired them in version 7.1
