Forum module missing directory "alt"?

Installed the forum module and got a "white screen of death"; error log shows:

PHP Warning: require_once(/modules/boonex/forum/layout/alt/params.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

Checking my install that is true, the directory "alt" does not exist. Downloaded SVN 17188 and no "alt" directory exists.  Furthermore, checked the 7.1B1 and no "alt" directory exists.

Please advise.

OK, I see a ticket has been submitted and that for now one must use uni.  Sorry for the post but I did search first and did not see the forum topic where someone else had a question on this.
