It won't recompile for me either, still stuck with [L[Forums Index]] no matter what I try.  If anyone finds a solution to this I would definitely be interested in hearing it.

Just a suggestion, Make a backup of your /modules/boonex/forum directory. If one exists, delete the uni_en directory. Clear your /cache and /public_cache folder EXCEPT for the .htaccess file.

Navigate back to your admin panel>modules>orca forum

Click Compile:en link again at the top right.

NOTE: If you are using a custom template, you should have a folder with its name under /modules/boonex/forum/layout (example mytemp with NO tmpl_ in front of it) You may need to delete it's _en folder too (mytemp_en) if one exists. If you do not see a folder with your custom template's name, just create it and copy the contents of the uni folder over to it.

Thank you Zarcon, I tried what you said and although I failed on my first attempt - when I switched everything back to Uni and then recompiled it worked.  Then I copied the uni_en directory as you instructed for my custom theme and it worked perfectly.  I appreciate your help!
