I don't want the Forums there....just the Spy.

Hi,

I think by default Forums spy is available for your homepage.

In admin > Builders > Page Builder go to your homepage and drag in the Forum Posts block to the active blocks sections. Save it and then check your home page. Doing that on my site just brings up the latest posts in my forum but not the forums themselves.

Cheers

What he wants is only the spy function,  so that you see realtime what others are doing.. correct?

The last forum post is standard on the frontpage... but that is not the SPY...

Yes....thank you. This is exactly what I want. To be able to place the "Forum Spy" on the front page....

Hi,

Okay sorry I get that now. I'm assuming that somehow somewhere we can adjust the rss feed to get the latest posts. But I'm not sure about how to do that. Currently that block is saying

{SiteUrl}orca/?action=rss_all

Anyone know what we'd have to change it to?

Cheers

Ok in chasing this around a little further  .....

Nothing jumps out at me but I don't know javascript that well if anyone can run with it  .....

jquery.jfeed.js  =  jFeed : jQuery feed parser plugin

jquery.dolRSSFeed.js  =  jQuery plugin - Dolphin RSS Aggregator

And there is the get_rss_feed.php  .....

I've got another headache  .....

My suggestion wouldn't be to use the actual orca spy - as this would require too much integration for a simple idea- use ajax to get the rss feed and update every 10-15 seconds... I'd suggest the xajax framework - small and easy to use.

I'm sure if enough are interested I could whip up the code...

As always, simple and sweet - php is the instrument, I'm the artist :)
