I have just upgraded the site to 7.1 Final. I first reported the problem before the upgrade with a deleted user topic and got no answers on that problem report. Now I am seeing it on a topic that is not from a deleted user.
You either go to make a comment or reply to a comment. You type in your comment, hit submit button and it appears that nothing has happened. The editor does not go away and the forum does not reload. However, if you manually reload the forum you will find that your comment did post.
This is seen on Chrome 24 and FireFox 16.
BTW: I posted a new topic without this problem occurring.

How does the forum editor work when replying to comments? Is a refresh done by jquery? Could this be caused by something interfering with a jquery function in the forum? I am looking for pointers on where to start tracking down this problem. Geeks, making the world a better place |
I have observed this does not happen on all topics, I just replied on a topic without this problem occurring. It seems to be related to something about the topic itself. Geeks, making the world a better place |
I have confirmed this occurs on some topics but not others. What could I look for in a topic, either in the frontend or the database, that could cause this problem to happen in some topics but not others. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Once again this has happened. The comment posts, but the forum does not reload. I have updated the forum files to the one in the final zip. Has there been any more updates to the forum? Any hints on tracking this little bug down? Geeks, making the world a better place |
OK, I think I know the bug, and I saw this with a module that I have been receiving database errors on. It is topics with a single quote in the title. Once you create the topic, any replies will hang the editor even though the reply will post. If it is a bug with 7.1 Final, I should be able to recreate it on the demo site. I could not repeat the problem on the demo site; so it appears to be a local problem to me. I guess the first step is to make sure my files are up to date. After that, I am not really sure what to look for. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Jumped too soon, I can not reproduce the problem on my test site. Geeks, making the world a better place |
