Forum Posts

My forum is all working correctly but the forum posts box on the homepage and on a users profile page never loads. I cant seem to see what this maybe causing the issue. Anyhelp?

Also i know you can lock topics to stop people posting reply in a topic but can your lock forums theirselves?

Many Thanks in advance

James

I am also looking for a fix for this!

I have had a good look around and there seems to be not fix or solution!

This also happens for the Group / posts. Ie there are never displayed!

Amy advice in the right direction would be welcome

have you made the block from admin to show on the index of the page? and ensure that its calling up the forum. i am pretty certain that this works, as i call the posts from dolphin as well as boonexnerd.com and serve them on my site via rss block.

After doing some more "Messing about" as one does........ Wink I noticed that my RSS feed url is:

{SiteUrl}orca/?action=rss_all .

(Click in your admin panel > Builders > Page Builder > Homepage. You should see a section called ACTIVE BLOCKS. In there find the active block  labeled FORUM POST and click it! You will then see the settings for the rss URL)

I have tried both "{SiteUrl}orca/?action=rss_all" and "http://tvchatfriends.com/orca/?action=rss_all", and can't get the feed to work. But it works when I use the feed in my Google homepage and when I link to another site. But I still get the "Loading" animation!  Yet other RSS FEEDS linked to my sites work fine. I just can't seem to link my own forums post feed to my homepage! Undecided

I'm missing something............................

Admin --> Settings --> Membership Levels --> Membership Types --> Membership Actions. Ensure that your Orca and Group Forums are viewable for the proper membership types.

Verified same problem in v6.1.4 with FireFox 3.0, Internet EXploder 7.0.6
and Opera 9.26 so it is NOT a browser related problem.

DosDawg, the forum posts block is there by default in v6.1.4  .....
.

I copied my site from one server (openSuSe 10.3) to another server (Debian 4.0) 1:1 using "Plesks Integration Manager". Now the RSS (Forum Posts) are working fine from the first second on without changing anything. Very curious... Undecided

Have tried all the solutions provided above but none seems to work.

Any help would be great.....

Thanks.
