You don't even mention about the funny writing: [L[Manage Forum]] and you've got this [L[ everywhere...so is that not a problem for you?

Forum it's easy to manage, but removing the [L[ it's not.

You need to compile the lang first...

Just click on compile language at the top of the forum when you are logged in as admin. If it's English language it will show (en) in brackets.

I was in the process of posting this and thought i will try it in firefox instead of IE. No javascript errors in FF and compile languages works. I am going to keep teh text I had already typed below as it illustrates a problem that is happneing with IE.

I am having the same issue. tried compiling the language, but it does nothing becasue of a javascript error. viewing the source shows dual DOCType elements in the page, which I think might be causing the javascript issues and ultimately any other issues in the forum script. not sure where the second element is deing added from. possibly  a php include that should be a require_once possibly.

When clicking the compile language in admin, I get "check folder permissions compile failed" error.  What files need change to get this to work?  Hate those L things
