Flash App Issue

Hey guys. I am new to Dolphin 7.1. I got my site up and running and now I am getting ready to install some flash apps, but I have run into a bit of a problem. I don't know if anybody is having this issue, but when I click install, it says that the main.xml file needs 666 permissions. I attempted to go into my FTP software to change the files to 666. However, after clicking install again, it says that it cannot open the file. Any idea on why it is doin' that? Thanks!

Are you able to SSH into the site?

If so look at the install directions for 7.0.9 for all the correct files permissions settings for the modules, it is towards the bottom of the post.

look for, If your web server is running PHP as an Apache module, you will have to change some permissions to be able to install some modules. Here is the whole list of the correct permissions:

Also 7.1 is a work in progress, not in beta yet, so you might run into missing files.

I usually have been merging the install, only installing missing files. Don't overwrite the the files already there.

Thanks for your reply! But what do you mean by SSHing into my site?

Sorry for the double post. But my Dolphin site is actually on a sub domain.

Try it in your cPanel, not FTP

if you don't know what SSH is and your on shared host, no need to know.

Shared hosting enviroments are not able to SSH into the server.

I use Rackspace for my hosting and they don't have a cPanel I think....
