I got B5 installed so please disregard and I'll post an updated list based on that version. Sorry. :)
First, please note that these comments are regarding B4. It takes about 15 hours to upload the script so I'd really rather not at this time. So, if anything I mention here has already been changed, my apologies.
These are a few things I've noticed that could possibly use some work:
- The installed Extensions should all be in alphabetical order. Right now they're all over the place which makes it hard to find things. Can't find "Quotes" at all even though it's listed as installed.
- Articles added through the admin panel should auto-publish rather than needing to manually do it.
- Is there actually an "All Tags" function? If so, where is it? Because the current "All Tags" is still separated by item type (profile, article, event, etc.). It would be nice if there was a site-wide tags list so if you click on "Tennis" you get everything on the site that is tagged with "Tennis" and you don't have to go through each item type to see it.
Thanks!

RE: It takes about 15 hours to upload the script.........
You're joking ...right?

I wish...
Next time I should just pay someone with fast access it to upload it for me. :)

Yikes! Do you decompress the installation package before uploading? If you do, uploading the zip file, then decompressing it on your server, will save you about 13 hours. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
That would be lovely. :) How do I decompress something once it's on the server? That would make me a happy woman because uploading this stuff is beyond tedious because I don't have internet where I live so I have to do it while I'm out which means sitting in a cafe for 15 hours. |
Do you have cpanel access to your server? My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

Maybe someone here could do it for you? Are you in Chile? on dial-up? |
I'm in Mexico and it can be spotty/slow. There are both advantages and disadvantages to working on the road. Advantage is that I'm on the road, disadvantage is that sometimes finding good internet is a problem.
I just upped the zipped file to my server and am now going to try to figure out how to unzip it. if this works I'm going to have to buy Houston a drink because it took 15 minutes to upload the zipped file. :)
|
Houston, you're my new hero. If you're ever in Mexico I owe you a beer. :) |
Open the file manager in cpanel, then select the zip file by single clicking on it. You should see a menu option at the top that says 'Decompress'. Just click on decompress and you'll be prompted for a location to decompress the file. If the zip is in your sites root directory, make sure the location to unzip field is blank. The path you enter here will be relative to the directory to which you uploaded the zip file. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Vagabondette, did you ever figure out how to unzip a file directly on your server? The suspense is killing me. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Oh no, don't die! Yes, I got it figured out, thanks. Gotta love an install that takes 30 minutes rather than 15 hours. :) Like I said, I owe you a beer now...or 3. |
I'd prefer a shot of Tequila... or 3 My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
