Facebook paid for "Status" updates

Is this a blessing for our type of sites, I think so...

Facebook is getting ready to roll out a new feature that will let your status update be seen by more of your friends then normal. This is also available for Fan page. As it stands, your status updates only get seen by roughly 13%  of your friends and even less for pages, but there's one catch, it's not going to be free.  From the looks of it, the cost would depend on how many of your friends you want to reach. This raises the question, does this new feature give an unfair advantage to those who don't want to pay for a status update?

Just Last week GM Motors pulled all of there Facebook ads, claiming that it wasn't helping there sales enough to keep it going. Facebook is slowly testing and possibly rolling it out to everyone very soon.  Would you pay to get more exposure to your status update?
