Facebook connect mod doesn't work !

Hi,

I just enable the default Facebook connect mod and fill in the api key and secret key. I tried to log in from frontpage, but after I select log in with facebook, the page refresh and keeps refreshing then stuck.

Anyone has the same problem or know the solution for this?

Thanks,

Same issue here.  Playing around with 7.1, and even after setting up the facebook connect, when users select that option, it just kicks them to a page with the login fields, however on my end it appears that they are logged in.  Driving me nuts.

it just kicks them to a page with the login fields,

That is how it is supposed to function.

[edit] filling out the fields completes what is missing from FB, and allows the members to input more profile info.

Can you post or PM your site link?

This one is a 366 day old post for dolphin 7.0. something. I really wish people would post there exact version number.

All dolphin 7.0 versions are no longer functional anyway. Facebook made changes in October that rendered all 7.0.9 and eariler versions non-functional.

In the FB connect module there is a setting.

Redirect page after first sign in:  join.php

that is the default, to send them to the join form.. you have several options on the drop down selector.

Exactly as Newton said.

When you select facebook connect it is suppose to present a facebook logon page, then after login to facebook it completes the sign up on your site using the facebook information.

If you feel it's not working properly, provide a site URL so we can check you sites facebook connect for proper operation.

But i think it's working. I just think your not understanding what facebook connect is for.

Facebook is also requesting a secure https connection now.

That's only if you make an "app" on Facebook.

As newton mentioned. Thats only needed if you make facebook apps.

But to go further, it is only needed for facebook apps that require a canvas page.

There is very little that needs to be setup for facebook connect.  See my screenshots. This is what facebook connect requires. http://www.deanbassett.com/images/facebook_screenshots/
