The Demo Site works fine. I cannot get this App to work in of 7.2.

It had been working fine in 7.1.6. I hadn't checked until the other day,

I just thought it should be working, Its not. Tried checking the APP at

Facebook and everything is fine.

????

Don't know where/what to do from here.

Don't know where/what to do from here.

This is just a stab at air perhaps...

Did you manually clean all the cache folders?

I did an upgrade to two sites using the FB connect module; using the Boonex module on one and the other site I use my Deano's FB connect module.

Neither site has a problem logging in with Facebook.

I did try your site and seen the page, which is strange in itself. It's not the normal "caught in a loop" page normally displayed.

Yes, I know. Its really strange.

And yes, the cache has been cleared many times.

Did you check it at AuthorsBag.com ?

Sounds like the right effect.

I checked the APP at Facebook and it worked fine.

My ISP said I had a Beta Version of 7.2, although I downloaded a FRESH copy of the 7.2 release and installed it.

I did notice a new "Pro" version, with no upgrade instruction.
Not sure if they are different or not. I do have a "Pro" License.

Not sure where to go from here...?

Thank you

I checked the APP at Facebook and it worked fine.

Not sure how you actually verified that.

Anyhow, a redirect like that normally always indicates you have something misconfigured in the app at facebook.

First i would start with the URL setting in your facebook app. What is the URL you have set for the website there?

As for upgrading. You fist need to know what version your currently running. There currently is no upgrade from 7.1.9 to 7.2.0 but there are upgrade instructions from 7.2.0b1 to 7.2.0b2 and from 7.2.0b2 to 7.2.0rc and from 7.2.0rc to 7.2.0

However, you were not suppose to use a beta version for a live site anyway. Betas are for testing. They are normally full of bugs. Should not have been used for a real live site anyway.

The URL I have is AuthorsBag.com and the FB APP is directed to members.

is what you are asking?

NO. I have the 7.2 Fresh Install... Not the RC, etc.

I waited for the release before recreating the site from the ground up.

This is one of the problems I've encountered and working to fix.

Can't find the hangup.

That seems fine.

I did however expect a response that stated exact what you have in the url line. A more accurate response would be http://authorsbag.com/ which is a accurate url. a url without the http:// is inaccurate and a url with the www prefix would also not work for your site because your site is not using it. Accurate reporting is very important.

So i am going to assume when you said you have it set to AuthorsBag.com that you actually mean http://authorsbag.com/ which is what it actually should be set for.

For some reason your site is not setting a FB cookie, and i don't know why. Without the cookie, FB can't tell your logged in, so keeps looping back to try again. I am unsure of the cause of that.

Oh. One thing you may want to check. In your FB settings in dolphin, make sure there is no spaces in front of or at the end of the FB app id and secret keys. Spaces sometimes get in there when a copy and paste is used. So you will want to verify that.

Checked everything.

Its live at FB and all areas approved, and no spaces in anything...

Cannot find a reason why... Worked fine in 7.1.9 what ever was the last one.

Any more ideas?

I remember there was a little error in one of the files, and someone gave me the info to correct it. Different version, but just about the same issue. It was a small snipit of code.

Don't know. Different version.

I have no other ideas, other than asking your host if any updates to the server have been made such as curl. Facebook connect requires curl with https support.

Other than verifying that curl is properly working and server side security such as mod security is not blocking anything, then i have no other ideas.

Only other suggestion i have is to delete the facebook app on the facebook side and create a new one following the tutorial i have on my website for creating a facebook app. http://www.deanbassett.com/m/videos/view/Create-Facebook-App although rare, facebook app settings can become damaged preventing it from working properly. I have only seen that once, so it is quite rare.

Others have it working on 7.2 and so have i, so it's not a dolphin issue. Has to be FB app issues or a change has occurred server side.

I know you would like to blame dolphin. You have twice stated it was working on 7.1.6, but i do have to tell you, it's a moot point. Reason is there are to many other things such as issues with the facebook app, changes to the server and it's supporting php modules such as curl or even the addition or change to server side security software that can also be the cause. Because others have it working on 7.2 and has been proven to work, the dolphin script and it's facebook module has to be excluded as the cause.

Thank you,

I know it wasn't 7.2 in itself, I was thinking more, maybe the install I have, or the ISP since most of some of my troubles started with a backup install when their server ??? something happened a few days ago. I hadn't checked the FB APP so I don't know when the problem started. But I will start back tracking now that all my other options are gone. I was going to create a new APP, but I think I may want to ask my hosts if it maybe on their side.

Thank you for taking the time to help.

You were right!

It was the server and the curl with https support.  Tmdhosting.com stopped support the setup on their server and is strong arming all Dolphin Sites to purchase complete SSL Certificates to use the Facebook Connect.

They didn't give warning, and we paid a year in advance.  Now they strip it from the server and say pay up.

There isn't even a place to program in the https - don't know that much about this server side setup and the difference between a SSL https, but I really think they are just STRONG ARMING the Dolphin sites they have for a few bucks.

This morning was so wrong. Got to figure out what to do now. At least the databases are small enough

to transfer to a better provider.

Point being, you were right. I just wish they would have gave warning.

Thanks

Robyn
