Facebook Connect FB settings GUI

Yes, there are requirements. Curl is the major one. But the ability for the server to resolve DNS is also important. There is a test script here to see if things pass. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Test-script-for-curl-fopen-and-gethostbyname.htm

You must also have the facebook side setup properly as well. The two biggest problems are the domain and site url settings. www is technically a sub domain, so if the dolphin site is not using it then it cannot be setup that way in facebook. The url must match perfectly. Additional settings.http://www.deanbassett.com/images/facebook_screenshots/

Deano I have run your dbtest.php and all has passed. I have looked at the facebook screen shots and wanted to let you know that FB has changed the GUI for their app settings could you update your screen shot tp match the new settings page for facebook. It might help new people installing the app.

My forum is here. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Deanos-Facebook-Connect-Support.htm

This is the wrong location. You may have hit New topic instead of post reply.

Anyhow, updating the screen shots is pointless. Other people will find a mismatch. Facebook has to many versions depending on the date the app was created.

Most of the settings in Migrations need to be disabled except for the ones i show on, if they exist. Rull of thumb. All disabled unless i have one on in the screen shot. If your do not have that setting then facebook already has it on.

Now, provide me with your site url, and a screen shot showing the setup on the facebook side wher ethe domain and url are set. It's these settings that are the cause of most all problems.

Also, if you're getting any errors, post those as well. Just saying it's not working is not giving me enough information to narrow down the problem.

Also, boonex ships with a default stock version of facebook connect. Have you tried to get that one running. As a normal rule. If the boonex version does not work, neither will mine.

And are you running the latest version of my mod? It was updated a couple of weeks ago.

I have updated the screenshots with some notes that might help.

But remember, i also need error information, and if necessary, i may have to get access to look at it myself.

Of course. I remeber this one. He already asked me for help.

I asked him for access so i could take a look. I wanted to verify all settings and make sure the latest version is being used.

You can take screen shots to show me if access is being refused.

On the facebook side. Try this.

Make sure app domain is set to loovla.com

Make sure site url is set to http://loovla.com/ Note the trailing / at the end. Facebook is picky. Most of the time it needs to be there.

I have setup a test facebook app. So we can rule out the facebook side. Try setting up the module to use these app id and secret key.

App ID: 115628535177533
Secret: 4d685d922fcde56b9ebbbda584873bd9

Site url is not properly set. You also did not provide a screen shot of the first section. Settings->Basic

However. I see from the 3'rd screenshot that a www is used in the url. The website itself is not setup to use the www, so that setting is wrong.

Remember i said that url must match the site exactly.
