FIREWALL FOR WORLD MAP PORTS ETC

FOR SOME REASON GOOGLE MAPS WORKS ON THE SERVER.

BUT WITHOUT CONTROLS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SET IN THE WORLD MAP MODULE

HOWEVER GOOGLE MAPS DOESN'T WORK ON THE REMOTE. THAT HAS FULL CHROME ACCESS.

I HAVE HTTP SET TO USE PORTS 80 AND 443

WHAT AM I MISSING? I HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE BLOCKED??

It may not be the answer, but World Maps requires a key and I think you need a different key for each server. I'm also confused by your use of the word "remote". Do you mean a remote "WAMPS" style server? These are usually set by default NOT to communicate with the Internet. Thus, the key can't do its job and the Maps module probably won't work.

If you have your server set to communicate with the Internet, is your firewall blocking access? A good way to test is to send yourself an email from the script running on the remote server.

the key is there. so not the key

it was the firewall. i got some of it to work.

it now displays maps. but has no controls for the maps it displays??

i got http port 80 and 443 as stated by google.

must be java? java blocks everything except for 1935 and 5080 for rms

can anyone solve this??

if so it would be appreciated

SOMETHING STRANGE IS GOING ON WITH THE CODE?? OR JAVASCRIPT PORTS.

WHEN I GO TO WORLD MAP MODULES AND EDIT. THE CONTROLS FOR THE MAPS SHOW UP.

BUT WHEN I GO TO USE IT ON THE SITE, THEY DO NOT SHOW UP.

ALL MAPS ARE SET TO USE ALL CONTROLS. WHICH DO NOT APPEAR ON THE MAPS.

OTHER A DATABASE ERROR INA FIELD IS LOCKED ON DO NOT DISPLAY CONTROLS.

OR THERE IS SOMETHING BUGGERED, THAT I CAN STILL NOT FIND AND REPAIR.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

it's fixed with a ticket to alex

AlexT has finally responded with this fix. it works like a charm:

It looks like the problem isn't in Google Maps, please try the following fix:

https://github.com/boonex/dolphin.pro/commit/4037f819e6c601684dc64155161c095e14983f98

but now there is another problem.

the PROFILE   ACCOUNT  links on the top are not showing. JOIN LOGIN  when you are not logged in

is not showing either? anyone know a quick fix?? like +2 to the variable or something??

Glad it's fixed. Once you made the problem clear, I was about to tell you that there are dozens of older forum posts on the subject. All to do with changing a single number in the code if my memory serves me correctly.

For your future information, the Forum search is NOT the world's best. I always do a Google search similar to the following examples and get far more accurate results:

Controls not showing on map module boonex

or

maps not showing correctly boonex

The boonex at the end is essential as it's a filter for Google.

THAT FIX. KNOCKED OUT THE "PROFILE ACCOUNT LOGOUT" LINKS. AND WHEN I SWITCHED THE CODE BACK THEY WERE STILL MISSING. OBIVOUSLY A DATABASE ERROR OVERWRITE OR SOMETHING. ERGH. I HAVE NO LUCK AT ALL. I NEED TO GET THEM BACK. JUST GOT A COMPLAINT FROM A USER THAT THEY COULD NOT GET INTO THEIR OWN ACCOUNT SCREEN. SIMPLY BECUASE IT IS NOT TOP RIGHT ANYMORE

The above fix is different than the one I mentioned, but I've also used it. If you haven't already done so:

  1. Replace the "fixed" file to see if it fixes the problem.
  2. Always create a test site on the same server for testing purposes only. You should never use a working site until you're 100% sure the changes you make actually work.

Good luck.

YES SETTING THE TEMPLATES>BASE>EXTRATOPMENU

back to original solves the link problem. but screws up map controls.

its a nightmare. there has to be a way to do this and save the other elements. ie links
