FFMPEG.exe

I am running a test site on my localhost - 64 bit Windows 7 with Xampp. I have found an ffmpeg.exe that was compiled for 64 bit windows but videos are still not processing. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Been a few years since I last ran Dolphin on Windows, but did you make the scheduled task, or try to run the batch file manually and see what happens?

My goal is to run dolphin in a few different environments. I have always used CentOs, but also curious about windows with Xampp, Nginx, LAMP on mac os, and just for its and giggles, even try on my phone.

I'm afraid I can't help further with this, then. Hopefully dolphin_jay has a better idea and pops in here. He has plenty of experience with Windows Server, IIRC.

I did this once. I didn't find it nearly as fun as I thought I would. I came to this realization:

I managed to run Dolphin on BeOS once, but I cheated when I remoted into MySQL on a Linux box. Good? Stable while I ran a dozen demos. Bad? net_server (BeOS users will know this one).

I have found an ffmpeg.exe that was compiled for 64 bit windows but videos are still not processing.

I think your confused on that.

The ffmpeg.exe in the flash/modules/global/app/ffmpeg.exe which processes videos, video thumbnails and sounds or MP3's.

When your setting up your server, no need to compile and install that version unless your server also runs something like clipbucket.

So, the only thing to make sure of is your permissions are set correct.

using the default ffmpeg.exe that comes with dolphin, i get an error every time I try to do anything that uses it. it says that the version of ffmpeg is not compatable with windows 64-bit. which is why i had to find one that was compiled for 64-bit. this error also showed in the host tools.

Do you mean the one that comes with the standard Dolphin download? Despite the EXE extension, it's really compiled for Linux, so it won't run on Windows. Or do you mean the separate FFmpeg for Windows (http://www.boonex.com/ffmpeg_win.zip)?

i was referring to the one that comes with dolphin by default. did not realize there was a separate version. I thought the original would work and did not know that the os would make a difference.

I figured the default Windows binary didn't work for you. So what happens if you try and use it? Just download the one from BoonEx and replace the default one under /flash/modules/global/app with the same filename.
