Extra Photo Field - "Price"

Is there an mod or tip that would add the photo module with field titled, "Price"? Ideally the price field should also be searchable and sortable.

You are going to need to provide a bit more information as to what you want to achieve.

My primary Dolphin utility is an art site. The photos are used as artworks and it would be good if the artworks contained an extra field to represent the proposed value or price. Visitors should then be able to search for artworks by price range or sort the artworks from lowest to highest / highest to lowest.

All of the above requirements may be too difficult to achieve at this time and therefore I would glad to include anything that is available.

OK, we want to add a field to the Photos; which will be the price; and one should be able to search for a price range and return the artwork (photos) with those prices.

I wonder if a shop module should be used for this?  There is an integration of OpenCart in the market: http://www.boonex.com/m/opencart-full-featured-ecommerce-store-for-dolph

I have talked to the module developer and the shops have to be set up by the admin for those wanting to sale.

The way you want to do it though should be possible.

I've been looking at the Opencart Mod in an attempt to understand how it integrates into the core system. The photo module is the hub of the art site - so if OpenCart utilises the core photo as part of the store catalogue then it may work. Is that how OpenCart works?

To gain an understanding of OpenCart, do a search and read up at the application's website.

It won't be integrated into the photo module.  The question is if your members will be able to sell directly in your site.  Or if they will do any selling by email and other forms of contact.  If you want them to sell directly on the site; they they will list the works in the shop for them; adding the image for the item.  You might want to look at the Ads module instead; it is free, ships with Dolphin.  Your members could list works for sale in the Ads module; you might want to remove the default setup.

As for the original idea, you will need to add a field to the upload form that can be stored in the database.  The user can enter a price for their work.  Then you will add a search criteria for photos for the price field; the photo search is part of the photo module; the uploader uses the files uploader so not completely standalone.  If you can not do the work on this, then you might want to post a job for this work.

Am I missing something here surely the store module is idea as its for digital files and users can pay and down load the digital product and it is simple to place the price of the picture at the front of the description..

Plus if it helps Prashank25 did a tut on how to place a button under pictures this could be adjusted so it takes user to the store

Happy thoughts
