Executing the following command from SSH

Hello,

I just upgraded to 7.1 and everything went fine but i have one problem that I can't quite figure out.

The problem is I don't know how or where to do this.

Delete unused files by executing the following command from SSH :

php ./upgrade/files/7.0.9-7.1.0.B1/delete_unused_files.php

Thanks

You have to have shell access to your server.

It can be run in browser like this:

That should not actually work due to permission issues. Have you actually verified that the files and folders listed in that file were actually removed?

This may work on a server running suPHP where php runs as the user. But on other servers i cannot see how this would work properly run from the browser.

You could look at the file and delete the listed files manually, or maybe ask your host to run it.

Nope. That is a different problem.

As part of the upgrade you were suppose to switch to the UNI template. Did you do that?

The only other cause i can think of would be that all of the upgrade files did not get uploaded or did not overwrite the existing files.

yes i did switch to uni!

i have a custom template i am using too.

Is that custom template dolphin 7.1 compatible.

Site URL will most likely be need to see whats going on. But if your template is not compatible with 7.1 then that could explain the error.

But i am guessing not all of the files from the update replaced the ones on your server.

Did you try switching to the default template first?  Pre-7.1 templates don't work without some changes.

what i did was before i uploaded the 7.1 patch i switched the template to uni and then i uploaded the 7.1 patch via ftp. everything worked fine with upgrade. i follow the instructions at the end of the upgrade but then the last thing i was suppose to do i didnt know how to do it. so, i posted it here.

now paton what do you exactly mean by your reply "did you try switching it to the default template first"

He means did you try switching to the default UNI template instead of the one your working on. First before redoing the upgrade. To see if the error goes away.

And more about this template. Is this one you were working on with dolphin 7.0? or did you start it from scratch with a copy of UNI from 7.1.

everything worked fine with upgrade.

Meaning this error you have now did not exist when you were finished?

Did it start when you started playing with the template?

No it will not. 7.0.9 templates and the template files are not compatible with 7.1.

I bet thats your problem. Get rid of it. you can't use it on 7.1
