Events payments ?

Will the Events have the option for taking payments just the same as Store Products?

At this moment Events do not accept payments at all.

Thanks AlexT for your quick response.

Is it planned that Events will accept payments?

I would have thought there would be just as much demand for payment to an Event as payments in a Store for products!

Also, would the code easily install into the Events module, since it is in the Store module already?

I would suggest Events payments would make Dolphin 7 far more suited for many webmasters (It's essential for my site that certain level members can charge for their own Events)

Maybe it will be added in Dolphin 7.1.

Now it is also possible to make Events to accept payments:

1. you can allow users with certain paid membership level to add events.

2. you as admin only can create event and allow users with certain paid membership level to join the event.

3. you can create event with manual event's join confirmation, and you can accept manually only users which are paid you.

I understand and agree 100% with SZN1 :-)

Agree too with AlexT, that can be done later as D7 final release need to be published as soon as possible.

But I was thinking that the new modular structure of Dolphin will allow BoonEx to improve and publish modules one by one without all of us having to wait for a "global" new version...???

New modular structure definitely allows this, maybe it will be modules updates between Dolphin versions.

I agree D7 current specs should (is) priority...... it's well overdue.

Just disappointed that Events payments not included when the module is already in Store. After all, community members join Events rather than purchase Products.

Then again, the current configuration for Events payments as outlined by AlexT may be a way to control Event issues such as payment conflicts and arguments. Ideally, the member organizing the Event should be able to directly receive payments for the Event

P.S. Boonex ........ keep up the good work.......

I was just thinking about accepting payments for Events. Great idea, but it also sreates opportunity for fraud. Anyone could signup and say they are the official event coordinator to any event and scam people out of money.

In an effort to prevent fraud, is there a way of allowing the administrator to flag valid events as "Official". Kind of like myspace and twitter does now for celebrities. This could even be incorporated into the profiles section if possible too to validate certain profiles.

Of course the validation would be done manually and perhaps require an additional phone number field to contact the person, but once manually validated, then the admin could flag them as official or something.

I use dolphin as a city portal, so I may have Mayors, city officials, business owners, etc joining, so anything to authenticate their profiles and events would be great.

Thanks

Add one more vote for accepting payments for events.

I would like to see it configured so that only admin could create a paying event.

If a memeber wants to charge for an event, it should go through the admin anyway.

I agree fraud could be a problem if there was no control.

However, in my case, I appoint members as Events organizers once I have screened their identity and checked their background.

The suggestion by Lavinco would work.... "allowing the administrator to flag valid events as "Official". Kind of like myspace and twitter does now for celebrities. This could even be incorporated into the profiles section if possible too to validate certain profiles."

Therefore, I have full trust in their ability to create an Event and collect payments.

If Payments are available for Products anyway, then there already is a chance of fraud  unless controls are in place.

Go Dolphin 7 .......

Once upon a time, (v5.6) dolphin had events that the admin could charge members for.  HOW ABOUT WE BRING IT BACK?
