Event calendar, add description?

Our events calendar just shows the .gif or whatever we've loaded but shows no text description for the event unless you hover over the gif. We'd like the event description to appear instead of the gif. Can this be done?

Also how to list recurring events?

Search for one of my topics on re-occuring events (it is a typo)...it appears to be possible but not without extensive modification. I have not done this mod.
