To Fix: Need to fix the Join Form on the WAP module. Currently when someone successfully joins you site using mobile (WAP), after they click submit, the join form refreshes. The have to hit the Home or Login in order to sign on to the site. You need to have it where it will re-direct the 'new' member to the Main Page after they successfully Join.

Suggestions:

I think everyone here has already asked for the SpyWall module to be integrated in the WAP. I also would have to agree although that would require you to work with ilbellodelweb in order to make that happen. If nothing else, then create a wall what will interact with the SpyWall on the main site. This wall needs to be able to display you and your friends postings/updates.

- You need to have the ability to post photos to the wall

- You need to have the ability to create new photo albums using WAP.

If I have to compare to Facebook, the most popular things done via Mobile App is Wall Postings, Photo Uploads, and Email.Since you can already do email and photo uploads, all it seems you need to work on is a 'Wall'.

I agree, you absolutely need the wall.  It's the only thing holding me back from making the purchase.

Hi

This wap module is very good.

As I said on support topic, optimization of SQL query

and geolocalization of members and events could be a good idea. Possibility to search events and members by city and arround city.

How about the shoutbox? Or the poke mod? Might not be able with the poke mod because people would have to pay.. But just my thoughts.. Thanks..

I really think you've captured everything one would need, except for the spywall, which is a must.  Without the spywall, WAP seriously falls short.

I wrote to SpyWall's owner about integration. So will wait him...........

Is there a way to make Dolphin to detect that the user is trying to access the site using a mobile phone, then it automatically redirects them to the mobile version?

I'm looking to get this mod but I have a few questions. Do you submit the app to iphone and android or will it be a direct download form my site. How exactly does this mod works.

What's that falling? its a bird, its a plane, oh wait its Facebook

The mod is designed to automatically detect that the member is using a mobile device. Using some codes that go into the .htaccess file in the root.

There is nothing the member needs to download or install.

Oh o.k cool. I wait to see if ilbellodelweb will allow ESASE to integrate spywall in the app.

Well...That does not seem to be the case for my site. For example: you type in facebook.com in your mobile web browser, it doesn't take you to the full site instead it takes you to m.facebook.com.

When i try that with my site it takes me to the full site unless i type in m.mysite.com

@ESASE

Your test account login doesn't seem to work.

Is the photo upload supposed to work with iphones?  It doesn't for me.

For mobile version, if you have setup a domain like http://m.mysite.com, then that what the members will have to type in the address bar. If you do not setup a sub-domain, then it should switch to the mobile version if someone accesses your site via www.mysite.com

@ HL, I have noticed that some phones/browsers will not let you upload photos. It give a 'Uploads Disabled' message. The only way I was able to bypass this was to use OperaMini as my web browser. It has to do with 'how' the browser accesses the storage on your phone.

I think that the Iphone's Safari browser knows how to access images on an iphone.  The image upload button is greyed out.  If that image upload button in this WAP app, has anything to do with flash, then it simply isn't going to work.  I don't have this app, so I can't say why it doesn't work.

Thank you, I'll delete the sub-domain and see if that works.

And I really need to change  the "Make as friend" to something else. How do i do that?

@ESASE this current version allows you to read blogs, in later update are you going to make it possible for people to create/edit/delete blogs?

ok i need clarification on this. i installed the WAP module and it was giving me a fit. I contacted Esase, and he said there was a new release, so i downloaded it and removed the one that was giving me the problem. The instructions on the latest version does not have the hack implemented in the htaccess. so i removed the htaccess hack, because there was no reference to it on the latest release.

the WAP module does appear to function correctly based on the install instructions for the latest release, which does not mention hacking the htaccess. Matter of fact, i think hacking the htaccess was causing some problems for Mac users and it was serving the mobile version when it should have been going to the full site.

so is the htaccess needed, and if so is it different on the latest version that it was on the previous version?

I would truly like to see the WAP module adapt the theme that is current on the site, rather than the default theme that is loaded, also making sure that there are more indepth instructions for those who are not using the uni template.

the mod is excellent, response to issues is fantastic. well worth the money for a mobile solution.
