Private forums should not be shown to those that do not have permission to view them. Displaying that the forum exist to members without access to do anything to them is no good. All standard forum software makes private forums invisible to non-private forum priviledged people and this should be the standard with orca as well. |
I agree. A change to this would be beneficial http://towtalk.net ... Hosted by Zarconia.net! |
I agree also. I would also like to see multi level nested forum support, access by membership type rather than just public/private..
eg
ie membership type - guest can only see and access public forums
membership type - member can see public and also member only forum,, cannot see premium subforum
membership type - Premium member can seea nd access all areas etc

don't forget view topics page like
Page <1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.>
and not having 100x posts on one page
|
There is no pagintion for the forums and they just all list? That is utter crap and useless on large forums.
If the forums is really that bad then Orca should be striped from dolphin and support for a phpbb or simiular added instead. Boonex should concentrate on the overall framework.

any news on this from boonex staff
forum isn't that bad it's only missing the basic functions
option to move forum topics
option to give users mod.. status
pagination First Post<1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9>Last Post

I wish we had something like this also. In fact, I wish there was some way for different membership levels to access different forums. So for example, non-members could only see the public forums, standard members could see and post to private forums, and a higher level "premium" member could see and post to a higher level premium forum. |
I agree on my old forum I had a private 18+ section and now the only way to do it is make a group... |
|
Geeze... Pretty soon you'll want moderation controls, and sub forums. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
lol HL. actually I'd gladly pay for a phpbb3 or vbulletin integration instead of orca |
