Are these just not integrations of 3rd party products or services?

I would like to see a good, fully featured e-commerce (store) type feature on dolphin. The current one is absolute rubbish.

We also need a real working coupon module.... not groupon....  The world has wised up to groupon... But a fully functioning coupon module with variable size directly printable coupons - to have barcodes that actually work....

We need a ticket booking systen tied into events, That allows booing and payment with printable tickets for event / meals and accomodation.

My list goes on and on and......

Yep, I agree, forget Groupon. It is passe. A good ecommerce store is always a bonus, which should also incorporate downloadable products and physical goods.

Integration in what sense?  Is it to place eBay, Penny Action, Amazon, etc. ads on a Dolphin site to get Affiliate rewards?  Does not each of these types of "Product" sites offer their own affiliate code snippets that can simply be placed into a php or html block... then placed wherever the Dolphin site designer wishes?

BTW, I was recently part of team that created a Penny Actions [PA] site.  Once launched, we soon came to realize the market was flooded with other PA sites trying to get a "foot hold" in a very competitive field that already includes a few well established and heavily advertised sites.

I agree with DRautenbach and presscon, the integration of a good e-commerce module is a very nice idea.

Most do have affiliate programs. I know coupons.com has a simple javascript plugin that can be popped into a html block and bang, you have coupons on your site, and earn a commission.

Coupons are a hard one. Most real coupon sites force the use of a special coupon printer to help prevent fraud. I don't think anyone would be able to create a real module that is not a integration. To many hoops to jump through due to fraud prevention.

I applied to the affiliate program of   http://www.groupon.com/    and    http://www.livingsocial.com/

Both websites are very popular and I hope they'll just give me the code to put inside an HTML block and that's it.

I think its a good thing to have in a social website.

I woulod be wary of groupon.... They are getting a bad name with business, their share price is down and have been given 3 months to clean their act up.

For a company valued at $2b or whatever it is.... they have yet to turn a single profit in any year.....

 I didn't know that.

But it sounds like the normal process companies go through when they grow and taking a piece of the cake. They are being questioned, attacked by vested interests etc. I'm sure it is hard for them to keep track of their pay system but maybe that's because they are new and still working on fixing and improving.

Thanks for letting me know and I'll follow up on that.

Crushed the other topic and moved this one (one post with a pro-eBay message, so not a total loss).

What ever happened with these? I'd like to use if they were ever created.

Thanks,
