Why?This is my demo site:www.boonex.com.cn

same question.. why boonex in the name?

back to the subject.. IE7 is like 5 years backward.. so.. nobody can sacrifice the new dolphin features just for the sake of IE 7.. IE8 is more reliable now and more web standard compliant.. so I think the only solution for IE users is to upgrade their browser..

That solution will work for those of us who are running the up to date windows programs that can handle IE8.  I have seen systems out there, specifically XP systems, that can not support IE7, let alone IE8.  That answer is at best a cop out and we need to make these sites run in as many browsers as possible, if it means we have to add extra code to be compliant with 7, 6 or whatever, then that is our responsibility to the endusers as webmasters.

I'll be damned.  We agree on something!  Watching D7 load in IE7 brings me to tears.  Everytime I land on a site that loads as slow as D7 in IE7, I hit the browser back button.  I hope they've done some optimization for IE7 in Beta2

It's because the domain is in China..... the origin of about half the world's spam, scam, and hacking attempts.

it's one strange post lol asking boonex about his demo site =- boonex.com.cn :D

I also agree that as webmasters / cms developers we must try to support as many browsers as in reason, such as IE7 which is a right pain to do but is a standard we must uphold. Smart Mobile Browsers is also one of the main things to watch out for .. A true goal for community websites, is now the need to work with smart mobiles as much as desktops as the future rolls on

Wonder if Boonex got that extortion attempt - where they say they have your domain name with the .cn but someone else wants it.   I get those all the time.

-

Just did a quick stopwatch test with D7 on IE7 - yuck!  About 50 seconds!   By comparison, my D6.1.4 on the same server takes about 11 seconds - that is not great either, but is probably acceptable.

-

p.s/update - they obviously have to improve this, but maybe there could be some kind of "loading" page if they can't get this under 10 seconds - at least then the users know something is happening.

Why is the server for boonex.com.cn in Scottsdale, Arizona?

Don't they have webservers in China?

Please ask Andrew Boon about this.

Sorry.  Andrew Boon was recently abducted by aliens from another world, and they now have control of his mind.  He won't be able to respond.  Does anyone else have knowledge of this, so that we may verify your credentials?

BoonEx Partners are listed at http://www.boonex.com/partners/

Boonex.cn or boonex.com.sc, as of now, are not BoonEx Partners.

We don't registered every TLD or ccTLD out there, so things like that happen. We'll see how it spans and may take action at a later stage. They MAY become a partner or may have to give up the domain.

IE7 is still the worldwide most used browser,

and IE6 still has much more users than IE8...

D7 is quite slow with IE7 and still has some problem to display properly.

We have sent an e-mail TO ORG@BOONEX.COM

Right, and with that letter you're supposed to discuss this with us, propose your "services" or product as a complimentary product, then we'd have to sign partnership agreement, if we agree on terms. This letter clearly stated that we are open for discussion but it doesn't make you partner.
