Hello.
I have been thinking of ISN'T IT TIME FOR DOLPHIN TO HAVE TOUR?
most users of the dolphin base sites disappear after a week or soo not because the site is not rich but the of they were not introduced on how to use the system.
thanks |

How do you know this is the reason they leave? Did they tell you? My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Here is the problem, everyone's site is different. Not everyone uses every module that Dolphin offers. Creating a default 'tour' that actually shows user's how to use the site would probably be a couple hours long.
This is what I normally do to help users out.
1. You can always us the 'Help' page and modify it to your needs OR 2. Install the forums (if you don't have them already) and create a 'Website Related' section. Create sub-forums under that like: - Technical Support - Upgrades & Maintenance - Website Suggestions etc..
In the Technical Support area, create topics with instructions and screenshots on how to do things around your site. Upload photos, videos, etc. How to become friends, how to change your avatar/profile picture, etc..You can even use screen capture software and create your own videos of performing these tasks.
Once you get that done, create a HTML block on the most common pages (Homepage, Account, Profile, etc.), Name is something like 'Need Help?' and put something like this:
'Do you need help? Check out the Technical Support forum for tutorials and post any questions you have'
Link that directly to your Technical Support category.. Problem solved. Nothing to see here |
Funny you I say nothing RE: most users of the dolphin base sites disappear after a week or soo not because the site is not rich but the of they were not introduced on how to use the system. thanks

I did something different. I created a video for certain areas that required instructions. Then I placed a block on the page with an colorful image that when clicked it would take you to the video associated with the video instructions for that page. Like Customizing your profile, adding an event, or creating a group etc. The video also were categorized into their own Video group and linked to Help page. Vunderba.....
