Dolphin Store Module

Hey Unity,

Just want to clear some stuff up with this store module. I've been lead to believe a few things which I am unable to get going. If you could answer these it would be VERY helpful to finally get this stuff cleared up.

- Can members sell their own products on the store and get paid for them?

- if they can sell their own products, is it possible to have a % of each sale be sent to the admin?

- I created a test item in the store, but when i upload something and set a price, I cannot see where the hell i 'purchase' the item from. any help on pin pointing this would be great.

Those are the main one for now, I've been lead to believe that people can sell their own products as well as have a % of the sale sent to me as a 'fee' kind of thing. Would be great if this could be cleared up soon for me =)

I can answer number three.

You cannot purchase your own product..

[edit] create a test account and try to purchase.

I can help with some of this.

Members can sell items on the store. I dont think that you can get a percentage though, you may have to modify for this but i dont know if its possible. If so, it would be great and please let me know if you find out how.

I did some testing with paypal sandbox (its a bit confusing but i managed it) and it did work. I was able to add items and buy them as a different user via paypal. You have to create a sandbox account with paypal and then create a buyer and seller account within the sand box and then do some tests.

When you list the item, you would have to look in the store section and find it there.

I found that there are so many modules and sub menus that it can become very confusing, i would suggest installing one module at a time and working with it.

Good luck.

The boonex store is not for physical products .

It is only for digital downloading products.  what you can do is that upload with every product a blank file or some picture of the product so that it looks like a downloading product to the boonex system.

After this you will surely find a buy button displayed with the test account and not the sellers account.

I hope this clarifies your question.

thanks for the reply. i know it is only for digital download products, you need to upload a file to go with the price, so i uploaded an image file. I'm morely wanting clarification on the whole "can people sell their own products" and "can the admin take a cut of the sale"

thank you for your help so far everyone, just need a definitive answer on these two questions.

you can charge for access to the store, whereas its not a % you can limit the number of products and offer an upgrade package for an increased fee.

Can someone please help me, i tested out the store products module, all settings r correct, however when i purchased a file to then download it, after the payment went through, i was not redirected back to the product, nor when i went back i could not see the download button. I am only allowed to see download button logged in as admin.

Everyday is a new beginning.

Something that doesn't looks obvious for me. First let me introduce whant I want to do: I want some extra and paid membership for people who wants to sell services, product. At this point, all is ok. But in my opinion, each people (company) who want to sell something in the boonex store should have a PayPal account or something to set it in profile.

How do I do that, please ?

boonex platform is similar to a dating site, it is not truly an E-commerce which you can sell physical products and merchandise. the best is to forget about boonex and move to an Ecommerce platforms.

That is what we did.

No one said that Dolphin was an E-commerce platform, where did you get that idea?  Dolphin is a platform for building social networks and community portals; it never claimed to be a an E-commerce platform.

Now, I have talked with you and told you that you can sell your products in the Dolphin Store module; you just have to include a text file; say the warranty for the product.  The store module was designed for downloadable content, such as pdf files, sound files, etc.  However, with a bit of tweaking others have used it to sell physical items.

Geeks, making the world a better place

In fact I have found what I was looking for : A place where users can enter their PayPal account and sell a certain amount of products & services based on their membership, and all is ok. But yes, boonex Dolphin is definitaly what I need, because it's more likely a community for people who wants to share experience and informations about a specifical subject. Adding a kind of small store option was not the initial point, but as it exists, good to know how everyone can benefit from it.
At the end, the only thing that will solve my problem is checking and adding a FAQ about "how do I can start selling my eBooks".

I bought the Premium Store from Modzzz which has these functions in "Account" - Payments - in the Precessed Orders Module click on Processed and go to "Settings" here the vendor can fill out their PayPal information.

Boonex suggest using the PDT option for accepting the payments. For more info https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/products/payment-data-transfer/
