Dolphin Install Permissions

Hello,

I have setup everything to install Dolphin 6.1.6 and when I run the Permissions scripts things are showing as not set.  I have checked each file in the script and the Permissions are set correctly though.  I am not able to get past this and I am not sure what the issue is.

Any idea how to fix this?

yes there was a bug in version 6.1.6

there is a new version and its been updated and supposely the bug is fixxed in this

so go and find the latest dolphin download and this should be fixxed

yes delete what you got now

make a fresh install

6.1.6 is the latest and it has a new fix in it if this is what you already have

start from scratch and this should be fixxed

Hello,

I removed all files and Dir's from the website.

I downloaded Dolphin-v.6.1.6.zip again to the server.

I unzipped Dolphin in the /var/www/html dir

I then set the permissions via the scripts

The install/index.php is giving me the same exact errors that I explained before.

This is a Fedora 10 box.  Is there a patch I can run to fix this?

you will have to be a bit patiant and hopefully somone will be able to help you that works with Linux

I had permission errors on the rollback. I didn't have them on the install. This was supposed to be fixed in 6.16, but I think Boonex focused on the Windows installation and forgot about the Linux one. I don't know why it acts differently on different servers either. That's terrible that you can't skip that step. You can on the permission rollbacks.

EDIT-ADDITION: I was able to add a "skip" step to that section. See below.

I came up with a dirty fix for you.

open ./install/index.php

Find

  <div class="button_area_2">
     <form action="' . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . '" method="post">
      <input id="button" type="image" src="images/next.gif" />
      <input type="hidden" name="action" value="step1" />

Replace with

 <div class="button_area_2">
       <form action="' . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . '" method="post">
        <input id="button" type="image" src="images/skip.gif" />
        <input type="hidden" name="action" value="step2" />

Save and upload.

Make sure your permissions are correct and click the "Skip" button on the permission check page. That will take you to the next step. Fill out the form & ignore the warning at the top of the page as it's not valid. (Remember this is a "dirty" fix!) LMAO

I did not test the script you gave me, but I solved the problem.

When using Fedora 10, SELinux is on by default.  I do not know alot about SELinux but I found errors relating to it after banging my head on my desk a few times.

In Fedora 10 run the command:  getenforce

It will return

Enforcing or Permissive

The command setenforce 1

sets SELinux to Enforcing

setenforce 0
sets SELinux to Permissive

After running setenforce 0, I am able to run the install scripts everything checks out ok!  I do not think that this turns Permissive on after reboot so you may need to run it again or add it to your start up.
