Can we have first name and surname fields Please! or the option of?? Some non-dating sites need the two name fields to enable their sites to function properly. This is important!

Caltrade, how do you mean, just add them? I would like two seperate field entries for First name and Last Name. On my present site I am using Tophers two name mod which works well, I do not know if this will port to D7. D7 should have this option as standard. I corrected the spelling typo I made on your name. I meant just add it as a profile field - I didn't understand from your posts that you meant for logging in - but yes, that would be a good thing. It is also better in my opinion to have names appear under pics, etc. Since that code for that mod has been publicly published, perhaps it should just be included in D7 so it can be properly supported. Better yet, give admin the option on the backend to set the log in username to "NickName", "email", "first name/last name" or "full name". - Rob |

I have to agree. I also would like the option to have First and Last Name to be used instead of nickname.
What is also frustrating is that Nickname is displayed throughout. On profile's, blogs, chat room etc. I don't know people by their nickname but by their real name.
This is also frustrating in the admin panel when you are looking into someone's profile and you are stuck referring to their nickname. Can the admin control panel rather use first and last name of the person instead when it comes to users.

R 99% of the websites uses a "nickname" or email address to register accounts, but there is no problem adding real names to the registration form.. so I don't see any problem as long as you can search people by their nickname, ID and real names.. The only thing I wish is to be possible to add more registration fields right from the admin panel.. |
