Dolphin 7.3.0

is this a real release or a beta cause TMD has not got this ver , they only have 7.2.1 

If you are using an auto installer - DONT. Although it may seem nice and easy - in most cases there is always a problem somewhere. Manually upload to your server and install/update.

Be wary of VPSes unless you know the company; some companies will overload the box with VPSes and you will have nothing but grief.  I made that mistake when I first started with Dolphin; Dolphin is resource heavy and you need a robust environment to handle it.  Another thing is that if you don't know anything about running a server, then you will need to get a managed dedicated or VPS where you pay for support.

 Great advice!  From personal experience stay away from InMotionHosting.com for VPS.  They are a true nightmare when it comes to overloading VPS clients and overloading mysql databases with numerous clients (who abuse the system).  Do you homework and check REAL reviews on hosting companies.

at my site the likes for outline does not work.

I did a upgrade from 7.2.1

...and the Chat at Safari can not read it's blank and helpdesk at safari is half transparent with all templates.

To add to this thread, Softaculous usually updates their version within a week.

Also, we now offer Dolphin via Softaculous on our shared, and use it for new installs. We used to keep away, but after hundreds of tests, we now feel it's stable enough. I haven't seen any issues, at least on our servers.

Wouldn't there be a problem using Softaculous for upgrades if earlier Module installs required core file changes?

You can't upgrade from Softaculous - fresh installs only.

If you have a Dolphin site on a shared server with chat working fine via remote RMS will upgrading kill chat? That is, can you continue to use the old chat with the newest Dolphin version or does the upgrade automatically take away the old chat and leave those on a shared host with no chat possibility?

There's no issues. You'd only lose the connection if the XML config files were overwritten, which a patch doesn't include. The RMS version hasnt changed since 7.1, and neither have the Flash apps too much - they still work in 7.3.

Edit: And they're all still included. Chat+ is meant to replace the old Flash chat, but the old module is still included, especially for sites on shared.
