Disabling Some Functionality

Hi All,

Just getting into the final stages of due diligence in selecting a script for my BMX Racing community, and had a question regarding temporarily disabling some of the robust functionality offered in Dolphin, and tweaking other stuff.

1). On the main images of the Promo Block, is there a way to link those graphics to a given article or part of the site?  There does not seem to be a way to do that from the admin interface out of the box, but seems easy enough to add a URL field when you upload an image.  Is that an easy do for a customization project (or, better yet, is there a plugin that does it)?

2). Migrating my current Joomla/SMF community to Dolphin would unlock a whole host of great new features and functionality to the community (Video, Photo Albums, Articles, Classifieds, etc).  There is nothing worse, however, than having a bunch of features that have only a couple of entries.  So, I figured I would launch with many of the features our users are used to working with, then add in new functionality bit by bit as users get comfy with the new script.  The question I have is:  If you place those features inactive on the main menu, are they truly disabled, or are there other places in the system that a user could access them?

I greatly appreciate any guidance y'all could provide.

Best,

Mike Carruth

Not sure about your first question, but I believe if functions are in the "inactive" area then they are truly disabled.  Why don't you try doing an export of your member table in Joomla then matching up those fields as best you can to the "profiles" table in dolphin and do an import.  See how close you get to what you want.  Good luck.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
