Disabling Safe Mode

I was wondering if someone can provide guidance on how we can disable safe mode for our dolphin site. It has been disabled via PHP, but our site doesn't recognize this change, it is still displaying the error message to "disable safe mode" please refer to the attached images for reference; and help if you know how we can resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

What page is that first image from? The one showing the error.

That is on the "Store" page as well as the "Ads" page. It even gives the same error when you go to the Admin page/section. Please help.

Thanks

This seems like a stretch, but any chance there are some php.ini files laying about?

Hello Nathan,

Thanks for your prompt response. What do you mean by "php.ini files laying about?" I am a little confused by that. Looking forward to reading from you again.

Thanks

Ok. The next question.

The second image you posted is from phpinfo. But is that from phpinfo in dolphin or from a script you created.

It may be your server may require a php.ini file in every directory.

You say you disabled it, but how. In cpanal or in the master php.ini on a dedicated server?

It was disabled in the VPS dedicated server. Is there a guide on how to include the php.ini file in every directory as you mentioned, where can I find this guide? Thanks guys!

I stated that your server MAY required per directory php.ini files. I did not state that is does.

No there is no guide. But now that i know you have a VPS you don't need it because a VPS does NOT require per directory php.ini files.

So. If you edited the server master php.ini to make that change, then it will be global. You should not be getting that error. So either you edited the wrong file. (not the master) or you did not restart the apache webserver.

You still have not answered how you got the first screen shot image. From phpinfo in dolphin admin or somewhere else..

After you made the change to the php.ini to shut off register globals. Did you restart the apache webserver?

Deano,

I got it from the Dolphin admin. Go to www.publictrades.com , and click on Store Home or just click on here: https://publictrades.com/m/store/home/

Even if i go to the admin area " https://publictrades.com/administration " It says to disable safe mode.

I have no clue. One section is ok and another is not. It makes 0 sense. Looks like you need a server expert to figure it out. It may have something to do with the https redirect or your https setup.

Also. As a tip. Unless you change dolphin to use the www prefix. Then do not include it when you use the url. That will get you into trouble when you setup facebook connect and some other services which are picky about specifications on sub domains.

put up this file on the server and view it in browser. Look in the local and global value. If local value for safe mode is on than there maybe a php.ini in your web directory.
