Description Field in Uploads

Does anyone know how to get rid of having to make an entry in the description section when uploading.  I d on't mind it staying, but giving the end user the option to add or not add an entry.

In your fields builder section of your admin panel you can specify which items are Mandatory.  Those you select to be mandatory require the user to enter information before they can complete the signup.  Simply uncheck the Mandatory block.

The Sequence:

Go to Admin Panel

Click "Builders" Section, then "Fields Builder".

Select the "Join Form"  Tab in the Fields Builder Block.

Click the item(s) you wish to change (either make mandatory or remove mandatory status).

Once the item editor is open, select the "Advanced" link.

The very first item there is Mandatory.  Uncheck it.

You will see various other options you can change as well.

Save it once you've made your changes and it should now be set to optional.

I did this to numerous previously Mandatory items to make the signup process as streamlined as possible and then request that the new member edit their profile at some later time if they wish to add these items to their profile.  There are a few mods that also remind a user to update their profile with this information if they have not yet done so.

I apologize, i was not clear in the original post...I was inquiring on the description field when uploading music, and not concerning the join form.
